We have now had the new system in place for four weeks. As we promised our patients, we continue to take an active interest in feedback and continue to try and improve our access.
The GPs have been working very hard to provide an excellent service. They have also suggested a few amendments.
Please see our "Seeing a doctor or nurse" page of the website for the full details of our changes.
Here is a summary of the improvements:
1) We are adding in some "routine bookable" appointments. These will be for people who the GP has asked to arrange a follow up appointment. They will be accessed via the staff in reception. We also have added more "routine phone review" appointments - as many patients have let us know that they find these very useful.
When booking a routine appointment please use the ASKMYGP pages, or if you need to call reception please avoid calling between 08.00-10.30 and 14.00-15.30.
2) To access urgent, on the day appointments or advice, please call between 08.00 and 10.30 if wanting a morning review, or 14.00-15.30 if wanting a review in the afternoon. It is important that you try and call at these times when possible, so that we can offer you an appointment at an appropriate time. If you call out of these times then we can not promise that you will get an appointment at the time of your choice.
